How we created this look....

We always decide the look of the models for the shoot together with our hair & make-up artists, Hester & Flavio. For the campaign shoot of Hyperborea we wanted to transform the model  in a strong, sophisticated woman with a northern, pale look; extraordinary tall with deep black hair.

First Flavio starts with all his gear, instruments and machinery… quite a machine that airbrush! Flavio makes Pearl’s face more pale and whitens her eyebrows and eyelashes. With shades he works on the cheek bones to give her that strong & fierce look.

If he’s done, he finally can take his morning coffee and Hester & Jan start working on Pearl's hair. Hyperborea is a land hidden behind the cold walls of the arctic circle. So lots of icy wind…. Hester & Jan put some black extensions to darken her hair and folded her natural big curly hair to a sleek and wet kind of look with locks of hair glued to her face. As if Pearl was striding through the land for some time already; in the rain and wind.

Yes, it’s all in the details, but looks gorgeous doesn’t it?? Oh yeah, since the women from Hyperborea are really tall we designed a pair of shoes for the shoot to heighten Pearl a bit. Check out the heels!
